Abilities

Klavier's able to use his voice to manipulate and influence the emotions of others. This is something he must focus on consciously doing and could never do accidentally.

This ability is tied to his voice and thus can be used in two ways:
1. He uses this ability while speaking, thus coloring the way his words are being received. For example, he could use this to cause a sense of calmness, thus making whatever he's saying sound reasonable (even if it's not) or like a happy, acceptable thing (even if it's not). The ability to influence people this way is much more subtle and less powerful (though this could change with wyrds, I guess).
2. He uses this ability while singing/humming, thus making those who can hear it feel the desired emotion with no context. Done this way is much more influential, but is also interpretive since it's just a feeling that comes out of nowhere.

By interpretive without context, I mean that Klavier is only influencing base emotions/feelings, and how the character accepts it can vary. Think of this like music. Two people can hear the same song or melody, but get different feelings from it.

Using it for sadness can invoke simple sadness, loneliness, despair, depression, a sense of mourning, rejection, or pessimism. Happiness can invoke simple happiness, optimism, energy, a sense of being awake, contentment, acceptance, enthusiasm, trust, sense of productivity, or desire to be productive. Calmness invokes an atmosphere of calm as well as peace, stability, relief, sleepiness, or safety. Tension invokes a stressful feeling that can cause nervousness, impatience, uneasiness, worry, anxiousness, discomfort, susceptibility to becoming frightened, or susceptibility to becoming angry. Klavier could also potentially use this ability to seduce but I can't think of a general noun for that category that would be entirely up to mun discretion.

It should be noted that this is an emotional influence, which is vastly different from mind control. In no way should characters be acting oocly or acting in a way that opposes their personalities. Characters who become angry, for example, wouldn't suddenly be compelled to go on a homicidal rampage when they would normally never do such a thing.

This also means that characters are able to both completely fall for and go along with the emotions as though it's something they're feeling on their own -OR- they can feel the emotions and be completely aware that their feelings are odd and out of place, and thus fight against them and ignore them. If they don't fall for the manipulation, characters are free to just be completely freaking confused by their own feelings or, if the circumstances are right, become aware that the feelings aren't their own and something is causing it.

Limits
Short answer is that people decide oocly how strongly this ability influences their character as well as how the influence is interpreted. This ability will mean only that, while Klavier is using it, the character will feel some level of influence from it, even if it's a momentary and minute feeling that changes nothing (which could be funny if it's not normal for the character to feel a certain way and they do feel it out of the blue for a second). Everything else is up to the other player.

IC explanation: Music affects everyone differently. Reasons why a character might be less affected can be that they aren't very emotional to begin with, they normally don't allow their emotions to influence them, or they otherwise think more with their heads than their hearts. Perhaps the situation is enough that they are feeling too much of one emotion to suddenly be pulled in the opposite direction. It could also be that it works to a certain degree, but this is only a momentary influence and goes away under the weight of the situation or another factor. Conversely, characters can be influenced more thoroughly if they are prone to reacting based on their emotions or otherwise act with their heart. Again, this is entirely up to what the other mun wishes to put their character through.

Also, needless to say, this ability hinges entirely on his ability to use his voice. Should he be unable to use it or something has happened to muffle, distort, or otherwise hinder his regular vocal abilities (getting a cold with a raspy voice counts), then these abilities are all null and void. The fact that he has to wind the key behind his neck to continue using his voice also acts as a potential limit depending on the circumstance.

This post is here in the event someone has questions about any of this or otherwise want to contact me about powers and I'm not around. Or if you want to drop a comment saying NEVER EVER DO THIS TO ME or something, you're free to use this for that, too. Otherwise, I'd expect to be in contact with people or will have had some kind of discussion with people first before any powers like this are used.
